Go beyond the ski slope. Go beyond even traditional off-piste. We are at the borders of ski mountaineering. Often the equipment is similar or they are big brothers of those used for ski mountaineering. Here, it's mainly about descending, accumulating vertical drop, and improving technically. Ski lifts are used, of course, but the goal is to ski freely, far from the crowds, in search of the best lines and the best snow. In our proposals, the most famous descents of the Alps, trips to the world’s sanctuaries of the discipline, but also exciting days on the unpredictable mountains at home.
A unique and incomparably beautiful descent, it unfolds on the Mer de Glace glacier in the heart of the Mont Blanc massif. An 18 km route, starting from Punta Helbronner at 3,466 m and arriving in Chamonix at 1,042 m. It winds between granite spires, breathtaking crevasses, and seracs. Departure with the Monte Bianco SkyWay cable car; a short walk on the glacier to reach Col Flambeau where you put on your skis. Briefing on the basics of skiing on fresh snow and recognizing crevasses. Arrival in Chamonix in the afternoon ends with a nice beer! Return by public bus.
The Vallee Blanche descent is suitable for skiers used to skiing on all slopes with parallel skis and good ski control. It is an unmarked off-piste route.
WHEN WE GO
Every day, from Christmas to early May depending on snow conditions.
In January and February, conditions are generally excellent along the entire route to Chamonix with predominantly winter snow. From March onwards, the snowpack is more transformed and the final part of the descent may not be passable (return by Montenvers train).
